I am right, as usual.
The RX is not ugly, nor is the predator grille. They look great.
The older Range Rover looks classier and better than the new RR.
The interior on the new S-Class with the cross-stitching and purple/pink LEDs looks tacky as hell, like a german low grade brothel. The clown-face steering wheel doesn’t help.
The Bentayga is an astounding vehicle. It also looks great.
This is the single most hideous looking vehicle on the market today. “Oh, but trucks are not supposed to look good Citroen, they are trucks” - Then why the hell did they put all that tacky tasteless chrome bits on it, huh?
There should be a lot more bike lanes, everywhere. Fun fact: I once parked in a bike lane by accident.
Non-OEM / non-Period Correct / Cosmetic modifications always look like shit, you don’t know more than the designers/engineers that built the vehicle. Again, making exception to performance upgrades, OEM, and period correct things.
Like this, every single Pioneer style screen on any car looks like shit.
Or newer wheels on older cars (worst offenders are replica AMG wheels and older 911 Turbo wheels)
yuck

chrome = tasteless is as popular a take as it is bad, and wow is it bad
green bike lanes are bad for the movie industry, so they are good

Eh, the F-250 isn’t nearly as bad as Chevy’s chrome stoned transformer with it’s chrome trimmed hood scoop.

It really isn’t about the chrome, the chrome makes it worse, but the whole giant ford logo and headlights that seem too close together

Your hot takes were so hot I had to get up and make iced coffee to cool down.
With that established:
1. Yes.
2. Yes.
3. Yes.
4. Yes.
5. Absolutely not.
6. Pls no. Have mercy.
7. 17/10 accuracy. The worst offenders are people who put 18" Mk6 GTI Detroit wheels on a Mk6 Jetta 2.slow with more dents than fleet of Camrys.

You like the too narrow Ford Cyclops?

Yes I do. I like it a lot.

All aftermarket stereos look like absolute turds.
Bentayga IS an astounding vehicle.

This is worse.

I mean, it doesn’t look good, but the proportions are ok, it looks like a Chevy.
This, I don’t know what this is.

Agree to all but the Lexus. It is the third least bad Lexus, behind the LC and the LS, but it’s overstyled nonetheless

the GS and IS are quite good, especially in F flavour.

I really liked the 2013-2016 GS, but the facelift fucked it up.
This is much bettet than this:
![]() 06/01/2017 at 19:26 |

Maybe, but it still isn’t bad looking, especially once you put a license plate on it
![]() 06/01/2017 at 19:36 |

Front license plate improves the look of every Lexus and Audi in my opinion. Breaks the size of the grill

Ill tackle these in order
Absolutely not to both
Yes
I haven’t been in either
Yes and no
Yes
Yes, primarily because all the cyclists wouldn’t make it through the summer
It depends.

1. Agreed
2. Ehhh. Maybe.
3. THANK YOU
4. Bentayga is my guilty automotive love
5. I actually really liked how the old Super Duty looked, this new one with its big parenthesis LED DRL and the fact that it looks approximately 15 feet tall if you see it in person puts it right to the bottom of the HD truck pack in looks, even under the Titian XD.
6. Indifferent
7. Mixed bag on this. Aftermarket stereos can look okay on very rare occasions, as can non-OEM mods, I 100% disagree with not putting newer OEM wheels on older cars. It can be done and look good. 2014+ Silverado wheels on 2007-2013 models for instance.

- The Lexus is a guilty pleasure of mine, especially the rear half.
- Yes the old Rangie is a future classic.
- I sat in a new S class and was not impressed. After that, I sat in an brand new A8 and didn’t want to leave. So I didn’t, for like 20 minutes.
- Modern trucks with chrome grilles the size of a coffee table are abominations. All of them.
- Rockstar’s interpretation of a Bentley SUV was infinitely better, whoever designed the Bentayga should be embarrassed:
- Bagged S classes on VIP wheels look amazing. Pistols at dawn?

Do people actually think the newer Range Rovers look better? I’m not sure I know any of these people, and I’m okay with that.
Also, like 90% of all wheel swaps look like shit.

All Lexii look like shit. Except the LC.
Agreed on RR, but I’d still take a new one.
Purple LED’s are tacky in any car and should not be allowed.
Bentayga is astounding, but looks awfully stodgy.
Ford Super Dutys get uglier with each model, but I’m in love with their interiors.
More bike lanes are always good.
I put a Pioneer stereo in my truck because it’s 17 years old and there was no way I was going to use the original. But I can’t bring myself to put one in my 997. It’ll look like shit. I’ll probably get a BlueTooth module like TranzitBlu.
With wheels, it depends on the car. I don’t like Volks on a 997. BBS wheels, absolutely. But I find myself lusting after a forged set of Fuchs wheels, and adding a ducktail spoiler with a front aerokit bumper.
The Turbo wheels were actually an option for the 987 Cayman.

I disagree on your take of the F-series heavy duty trucks. The upper trim levels with the LED surrounds look like something from the future. I like it:
![]() 06/02/2017 at 09:34 |

What if the OEM put the newer wheels on the car in a later facelift? I think dildos would look fine on a 2013 Focus ST and people thought the 2003 ZX2 wheels looked better on my 2001. I would rarely do it, but it was cheaper to replace all four than replace the one that was damaged, as it wasn’t available locally but a full set was sitting right there at the local junkyard in the front of the wheel area.
![]() 06/02/2017 at 09:39 |

I also think all the current fleet of GM trucks are far uglier.
I am not sure how to feel about the pig-nosed Ram, either, but it’s definitely better looking than the GM shit. It might be the best looking non-derivative 3/4 ton and larger truck on the market today.
![]() 06/02/2017 at 12:26 |

You’re not wrong about modern trucks. I recently bought a new(er) truck, and chose the trim I got specifically because it has no chrome (besides the wheels).

I agree with most of this but aftermarket touchscreen head units usually flow pretty well with a Miata’s center stack.

Hot take of my own: the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe is ugly. It looks like a 5-Series that was put through a taffy puller.

1. no.
2. yes.
3. yes.
4. maybe? I don’t really care.
5. Ugliest. come on, there have to be uglier. have you see the C-HR?
6. yes
7. yes generally (with exception)
8. this doesn’t look bad at all.
9. yes.

Only disagree about the Lexus grille, but it looks good on the LC500 - just not on their taller cars or ones with squinty headlights.
Fully agree about everything else though. Went to an urban part of the Netherlands recently, and the bike lanes were everywhere, making the entire city much more accessible and easier to travel in.
![]() 06/03/2017 at 09:22 |

And it’s worth noting that both are designed by automakers in countries that have front plates.
Automakers not designing cars to take front plates cleanly is a bit of a pet peeve of mine, because MOST OF THE WORLD uses front plates, it’s mostly just a few US states that don’t. So, a design that was designed with the expectation that one would be present? That’s a good feature.

Re: the Pioneer, I was perusing new stereos for my car (factory unit is having issues) and it seems all new head units with GPS display only has that sha ny black plastic. Ugh...
